Alternative to Trees - all for
the birds Without trees to attract
birds, one has to improvise
This tree,
in the front yard, & another just like it - died before we moved in.
So, we dug them up and "planted" them on the edge
of the Iris River in the backyard.
Thought the Morning Glory vine was a nice touch.
Ordered a
Purple Martin house, painted it and
3rected
it on a 12 ft 4x4.
Have the "vacancy" sign out.
Now the birds have a place to perch and
enjoy
the bird feeders.
Surprised at how many little
birds have found their way here.
Waiting their turn at the feeders.
Made a
birdbath with terra cotta pots
& saucers.
Glued together with
E-6000. Placed a "water wiggler"
that
hubby converted to solar.
It keeps the water moving.
