How we coaxed a Lush GREEN (Bermuda Grass) LAWN

In 2011 we started the grass growing process.
The Challenge was turning all the RED DIRT into a Lush GREEN (Bermuda Grass) LAWN.
In April 2012, Hubby planted grass seeds and set up the oscillating sprinklers to water 10 minutes every 4 hours.
Pictures below were taken during the summer of 2012 showing the results of keeping the areas moist.

We have green lawn - the neighbors congratulated us on our efforts.  Yeah!

looks good, don't you think?

Front & East Side- June 14, 2012
so glad to have grass - weeds are another story

West side of Front - June 14, 2012

Even the neighbors stopped to share congrats

Front facing South - June 14, 2012

back yard with grass - no more muddy paws

Back Yard - North East- June 14, 2012
Just a few bare spots - By Sept it was all grass!

Haboob, not as bad as last year! Thank Goodness!

Later that evening, on June 14th,
a Habbob (dust storm) rolled in

Billy Bob & Betty Sue are happy for all the grass!
Glad to say that by Aug 2012 all the dirt areas had filled in and
the beagles are no longer tracking in dirt!

Dave, the gentleman farmer, on his new John Deere.

Grass grew so well that we bought
a John Deere in July 2012.

This a picture (to the right) of Hubby practicing
in a area by the shop - where no grass is planted.

Hopefully our grass starting days are over,
that is until we try to grow grass
behind the "doggy yard" where Hubby is practicing.

Oh, we're started that project (Sept 2012)
