Furniture Broken by Christian
Brothers Moving & Storage
We contracted
Christian Brothers Moving & Storage
(3865 S. Kalamath St. Englewood, Co. 80110) for the move.
WHAT A DISASTER!
They totally
underestimated the load - the final price
was DOUBLE
their "not to exceed price."
They were 6
hours late arriving in Lubbock. Furniture was broken. Dishes were
broken. Boxes marked "UP" were turned over. Boxes marked for the rental house
were put in the Lubbock storage units.
They were far from "professionals."
How do three legs of a table get
broken? It took a great deal of force to break the legs.
Had to toss
15 of 25 metal utility shelves because they were mangled beyond repair.
Had to toss
5 of 10 Saunders bookcases because they were
mangled beyond repair.
Leg looked as if it
were ripped off
So badly damaged
that it ended up in the dumpster
Boxes that were
clearly label "Put on top only, don't stack boxes on top" were in some cases at the
bottom of a stack of boxes.
Boxes that were
clearly label "This side UP" were in some cases turned
on their sides.
In Lubbock, the
movers made two stops.
One to the
rental house and one to storage units.
Furniture, dishes,
picture frames, etc. were broken.
The
employee of Christian Brothers in Colorado who acknowledged the items
designated for the rental, didn't come to Lubbock. Therefore a lot of the
stuff designated for the rental were put into storage units and couldn't be
easily retrieved. As a result, we had to buy replacements.
Filed a
complaint with the BBB,
but received
NO refund or NO apology.
Now I understand why people say that making a major
more is like a fire. So many things were damaged
or broken and the expense of moving - don't even get me started.
